When the original unit wore out quickly, the customer knew he needed something better suited to the abrasive conditions of his application.  HDA Fans responded with this radial bladed fan incorporating chromium carbide on the face of the blades and the inside of the housing.  This hard surfacing is 150% harder than regular AR plate and should extend the life of the new fan ten fold.  Note that even the end of the shaft is protected by a special plate which is also covered with chromium carbide.
